Key Requirement
Optimize labor, reduce costs, and improve safety in the coating process.
The Challenge: Costs, Staffing, and Safety
The client company, specialized in high-end wood finishing, operated a linear spray machine whose inbound and outbound material handling required the constant presence of two operators fully dedicated to loading and unloading operations. This manual setup presented two critical issues:
- Operational Inefficiency and Costs: The need to assign two operators to a repetitive, low value-added task generated high operating costs and limited the ability to reallocate staff to more strategic roles.
- Work Quality and Health Risks: The manual unloading process, carried out near the spray machine, exposed operators to the inhalation of freshly sprayed paint and required them to perform highly repetitive work.
The company’s objective was to implement a turnkey automation solution to resolve end-of-line inefficiencies.

The Neomec Solution: Customized Planet Model Unloader
Neomec addressed the client’s needs by designing and installing a dedicated robotic system: the Planet model unloader for painted profiles, complete with racks, while maintaining compatibility with the client’s existing racks.
The solution was not a standard machine, but a custom-built system designed to integrate perfectly into the existing space and production flow:
- Special 4-Arm Unloader: The machine was specifically calibrated for handling operations, capable of composing and managing the alignment of two profiles simultaneously, maximizing production throughput.
- End-of-Line Automation: The system automatically collects and positions the material onto racks for drying, completely eliminating human intervention at that stage.

Results and Achieved Benefits
The implemented automation provided the client with an immediate return on investment and measurable benefits:
Labor Optimization
The line was reduced from two operators to a single operator. The remaining operator is now responsible for initial loading and overall supervision, resulting in a 50% reduction in labor for unloading operations.
Improved Safety
The risk of paint inhalation for the operator was eliminated, as they no longer work near the spraying area.
Increased Productivity and Quality
The automated and consistent management of the outgoing flow led to an increase in overall line productivity, ensuring more precise and uniform stacking.
Work Quality
Staff were relieved from monotonous and physically demanding tasks, enabling them to shift their responsibilities toward supervision and process control.
Why Neomec Is the Ideal Partner
The client chose Neomec for its ability to transform a specific requirement into a winning operational solution.
The intervention enabled the client not only to achieve significant cost efficiency, but also to make a step forward in improving safety and ergonomics for its operators.
